Conditions of the State Government NOC
The No Objection Certificate issued by the Education Department, Government of Bihar (memo no. 660, 20 June 2013) requires the school to make these conditions public.
- 25% of the school's total capacity is reserved for free admission of children from neighbourhood families, with no tuition or other fee charged. This covers children from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Extremely Backward Classes, minorities, girls with disabilities, and general-category families with an income below ₹2,00,000 a year.
- There is no entrance test or interview, of the child or the parents, for admission to Nursery/KG or the primary classes. If applications exceed the seats available, children are selected by an open draw of lots.
- Distance limits: up to 1 km from the child's home for Nursery/KG and primary classes, and up to 3 km for upper primary and secondary classes.
- 80% of the application fee is refunded to children who are not admitted.
- Corporal punishment of students is not permitted (Departmental Letter No. 46, 18 January 2008).
- The school is open to inspection at any time by officials of the Education and Health Departments of the Government of Bihar.
